JULY'S I.C.s - EDWARD STOURTON

Ed Stourton, the quiet man of the 'Today' programme, was quite busy in July, though (with the exception of his remarkable interview with the Israeli ambassador to London) you might be forgiven for not realising that!

Here are Ed's interruption coefficients for July:

Denis MacShane, Labour (18/7) - 1.5
Tony Lloyd, Labour (25/7) - 0.7
Chris Grayling, Conservative (15/7) - 0.6
Sir Malcolm Rifkind, Conservative (18/7) - 0.5
Lewis Moonie, Labour (10/7) - 0.5
Joe Ashton, Labour (17/7) - 0.4
Ed Miliband, Labour (15/7) - 0.4
Peter Mandelson, Labour (20/7) - 0.3
Louise Ellman, Labour (24/7) - 0.3
Mike O'Brien, Labour (21/7) - 0.2
John Whittingdale, Conservative (21/7) - 0
Lord Lester, Lib Dems (20/7) - 0
Vince Cable, Lib Dems (20/7) - 0
Barry Sheerman, Labour (25/7) - 0
Malcolm Eady, Lib Dems (13/7) - 0
Steve Webb, Lib Dems (13/7) - 0
David Blunkett, Labour (16/7) - 0
*
Average number of interruptions per political party:
Labour - 0.4
Conservatives - 0.4
Lib Dems - 0

Ed was not so busy in June, with a 1.1 interview with Conservative Boris Johnson and a 0.2 for old Vince Cable of the Lib Dems.

So, Mr Stourton is not showing too many signs of I.C.-related bias - except in favour of the Lib Dems (a widespread BBC bias, as this survey is showing).
