JULY'S I.C.s - JOHN HUMPHRYS

The other legendary interruptor (and quiz show prima-dona) is John Humphrys, who has (once again) been a quiet BBC interviewer this month. Still Humph has been in action and, of the 10 domestic interviews conducted in July, there will be no prizes for guessing who came out on top!

Here are July's interruption coefficients for John Humphrys:

David Cameron, Conservative (6/7) - 1.7
David Miliband, Labour (11/7) - 1.4
Andrew Lansley, Conservative (14/7) - 1.3
John Healey, Labour (7/7) - 1.2
Bob Ainsworth, Labour (8/7) - 0.9
Frank Field, Labour (7/7) - 0.9
David Davis, Conservative (8/7) - 0.6
Andy Burnham, Labour (14/7) - 0.4
John McFall, Labour (16/7) - 0.3
Tam Dalyell, Labour (3/7) - 0

Average number of interruptions per political party:
Conservatives - 1.2
Labour - 0.7

The comparison with June is revealing. Instead of David Cameron, then it was George Osborne who came out worst (with 2.8). Here though Humph's averages were 1.4 for the Tories and 1.2 for Labour.

John Humphrys enjoys attacking 'Tory toffs', that's for sure! Other than that, I would say that the I.C.s are showing a small statistical trend of bias against the Conservatives on the grump's part.
