The same thing that happened in the BBC News website article about the new year's messages from the party leaders in Scotland has also happened in their article about the messages from their Welsh equivalents:

First, understandably, comes Carwyn Jones, Welsh Labour leader (and first minister). Then, for some reason, Kirsty Williams of the Liberal Democrats, followed by Plaid Cymru leader Ieuan Wyn Jones. Finally, bringing up the rear, comes Nick Bourne of the Welsh Conservatives. (There's nothing of course from UKIP, despite their success in Wales in the elections in June).

Here are the rankings according to the 2007 Welsh assembly elections:
1. Labour
2. Plaid
3. Conservatives
4. Liberal Democrats

Here are the rankings according to the 2009 European elections:
1. Conservatives
2. Labour
3. Plaid
4. UKIP
5. Liberal Democrats

If the ranking implicit in the BBC article is not enough of a snub to the Welsh Conservatives, the miniscule number of words allocated to them in the article (compared to all the other parties) surely is!!!:
Labour - 214 words
Plaid Cymru - 1o3 words
Lib Dems - 94 words
Conservatives - 67 words
