Since yesterday the main story on the BBC News website's Education page has been this:
*
Warning on 'corner shop' schools
Head teachers warn that Tory plans for free schools could lead to a system of 20,000 'corner shop' schools.

Most of the article by BBC education reporter Hannah Richardson is given over to reporting the attacks on Conservative policies contained in a speech at the annual conference of the ASCL (Association of School and College Leaders) by its retiring head John Dunford. Mr Dunford's comments are recorded at great length. You have to go down to Paragraph 10 to get a response from Michael Gove, who you find also made a speech to the ASCL - from which just one sentence is quoted!!! The paragraph that follows Mr Gove says that Mr Dunford also attacked the government, but that is passed over to return straight away to Mr Dunford's criticisms of the Tories. Did Ed Balls proof-read this piece??

The BBC is really turning the screw at the moment.
