BBC home affairs editor Mark Easton has earned a reputation for himself as a leftie Tory-basher. Today he starred alongside Andrew Neil on a Daily Politics election special - a debate on crime, featuring Alan Johnson for Labour, Chris Grayling for the Conservatives and the ubiquitous Chris Huhne for the Liberal Democrats. This gave Easton a golden opportunity to prove that he really does take the concept of impartiality seriously. All he needed to do to prove that was to probe all three party spokesmen with a roughly equivalent intensity. Hardly difficult, you would think. Is that what he did?
*
No, he didn't. Indeed, I could hardly believe what he actually did do. A complaint will be on its way shortly to all and sundry!!!
*
Here are the number of questions/points Mark Easton put to the three politicians:
*
Alan Johnson - 2
Chris Grayling - 17
Chris Huhne - 4
*
Here are the number of interruptions Mark Easton made against each politician:
*
Alan Johnson - 1
Chris Grayling - 8
Chris Huhne - 3
*
Is that not absolutely disgraceful? How the hell does he think he can get away with that?
