Unsurprisingly, Michael Crick's short chat to Jeremy Paxman on Tuesday's Newsnight managed to find space to discuss the photo in tomorrow's Daily Mirror of David Cameron drinking a glass of champagne at a private party thrown by The Spectator.

(Incidentally, his silly sacred cow arrived in Manchester early. That should mean, if the Liberal Democrat and Labour Conference coverage on Newsnight is followed, there should be no more filmed reports from Michael Crick this week. If there are any more, it will be a good question to ask 'Why?'
