Long-winded, Labour-supporting Jim Naughtie is a plodding fixture on the 'Today' programme. Only Edward Stourton makes the listener's heart beat slower.
Here are Jim's interruption coefficients for July:
Alan Duncan, Conservative (4/7) - 1.9
Angela Eagle, Labour (4/7) - 1.2
Andrew Dismore, Labour (28/7) - 0.9
Mark Simmons, Conservative (24/7) - 0.9
Eric Joyce, Labour (28/7) - 0.7
Tom Watson, Labour (28/7) - 0.4
Lord Goodhart, Lib Dem (31/7) - 0
Phil Willis, Lib Dem (23/7) - 0
Kevin Barron, Labour (3/7) - 0
Douglas Alexander, Labour (10/7) - 0
John McFall, Labour (27/7) - 0
Alan Beith, Lib Dems (23/7) - 0
Average number of interruptions per political party:
Conservatives - 1.4
Labour - 0.5
Lib Dems - 0
No surprise there, I'd say. In June Naughtie's averages were 1.0 for the Conservatives and 0 for Labour! Naughtie is biased.
